the one thing I said I wouldn't do

After years of saying I wouldn't do it, it has finally happened.

I have turned into my mother.

In January, I moved into a proper house with my boyfriend. With a garden. And I have been loving gardening.

I bought two planters — one with Cosmos, one for wildflowers. I've been watering them, watching them sprout, feeling like a proud mama.

(Parents, please don't come for me. I am child-free for the time-being, so these are my pseudo-kids.)

Here's how committed I am to my garden.

Last night, I finished writing a nurture sequence for subscribers once they have either signed up for a free webinar (you weren't letting webinar sign-ups get your non-related newsletter after joining were you? 👀)

It was shorts-and-tshirt-weather outside - which means in the UK to get outside immediately.

So I fetched my brand new trowel and decided to weed the entire back garden.

Mate. Back-breaking work. My knees were cramping.

But I loved it.

My mind went completely quiet. No copy in my head. No client deadlines rattling around.

Just me, the weeds, and the insects absolutely losing their minds running away from me.

That's when it hit me.

Oh no. I are my mother.

Growing up, my mum could never have too many plants. I could never fathom why she would willingly spend her free time weeding, planting, pottering.

She tried to rope me in to help her.

Until the day I got bitten by red ants and ran inside screaming "I HAAAAAATE GARDENIING" — and that was the end of that.

Now? I love plants. I want more plants. I'm excited to turn our back garden into an oasis where I can read my books and drink wine and eat snacks in peace and quiet.

Here's the thing about becoming your mum (or whoever raised you): it sneaks up on you. One day you're adamant it will never happen.

The next, you're on your knees in the garden at 6pm, mud on your knees, genuinely at peace.

I think that's what happens when you finally stop fighting the things that actually fill you up.

For me, that's gardening, jigsaws, reading and hiking.

Anyway. If you've got plants or a garden — I want to know what you're growing. Hit reply.

P.S. Ultra marathon update: I had to pull out after 21 miles and 4500 feet elevation with blisters on my toes. Not fun.

But I'll be back for round 2.

Did you know that I was the sole copywriter for on a 7-figure in January? Here's are the 6 things I learned: Your audience always comes first. If you attract the wrong audience to your launch, it can spell game over for sales. Get super clear on who you're attracting and make sure that any lead gen works. It ain't over until it's over. We never judge a launch in the middle of the launch. People need a deadline to act so expect a flurry of sales at the end. Personal follow-up is a must. Our...

Hey Reader, Next month, I'm doing the biggest challenge I've ever attempted. This is not hyperbole. I'm doing a 75km walk with 8,000+ feet elevation in one day. I am shitting myself. This will be me driving to the event For months, I've been training. Gym sessions focusing on single leg exercises. Walking up hills. Walking down hills. Walking a long distance. And my hard work is paying off. Not only am I walking further (& higher) than ever before, I'm getting damn PBs on my walks. Here’s...

In Friday's email, I said I can usually tell within 10 seconds if a launch will convert. (I also shared the strongest psychological lever you can use in your copy. Missed it? Read it here.) Here's my BAM test that will help you do it too: Does the program promise include BAM? (Yes, BAM is my method - but it works). Your program promise is the transformation your offer gives your audience. And for that to convert, it has to be: Believable.Achievable.Measurable. Let’s break that down....
